YASA –Youth and Success Association is a registered National Non-Profit and Non-Political Organization registration certificate No: SOC/73350 47275 and has a current Youth registered youth membership of 12,124. YASA has curved a niche for implementing programs that empower Youth to achieve their full potential.
YASA works with in and out of school Youth from ages 13-35 years. Our programmes are devolved and with high sustainability and impact rate. Through a structured participatory approach and gender lens, YASA integrates positive values in the lives of youth so as to effectively and efficiently address their needs in a dependable and sustainable manner.

Sheila Atieno Van De Graaph
CEO AND CO-Founder
Sheila is the current CEO and the Co-Founder of Youth and Success Association (YASA). She has over 11 years of experience on Youth and Gender Empowerment(girls and women) programming. She has versed experience in Initiating, Managing and Developing Programs targeting Youth Empowerment, Gender Development, Policy and Women Empowerment. Sheila has managed Programs and Organizations in Kenya and across Africa. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow 2016 and YALI RLC 2016. She has MA in Gender and Development Studies and BA in Anthropology and Gender Studies both from University of Nairobi. Sheila is passionate about Youth and Women Empowerment. She is a member of Association for Research on Civil Society in Africa (AROCSA) and Association for Research on Non Profit Organizations & Voluntary Actions (ARNOVA)
Pius Musyoki Mutuku
Co- Founder Director Operations & Finance
Pius Musyoki has vast experience in Financial Management, Business Development and developing programs targeting Youth Enterprise Development and Youth economic empowerment. Pius has experience in Financial Consultancy having previously worked with ABC Bank Limited and ABC Bank Capital. Pius has made Investments in Agriculture, Food Processing and Education. His First Business was at the age of 19. Pius also has interest in community service especially with children with Intellectual Challenges and Learning Disabilities. He organizes and holds several charity and fun activities for them Pius has a Bachelors in Commerce (Finance Option) and a Master of Science in Securities and Investment. Pius Musyoki Mutuku is the Director Operations and Co Founder Youth and Success Association.
Head of partnerships & Resource Mobilization
Mercy Kimani has an accumulative experience of 6years in Partnership and Resource mobilization. She holds a diploma holder in Business Administration, with a decade of experience in administration and communication in the education sector. Currently, she is the Head of Partnerships at Youth and success Association (YASA) . Through her role , Mercy has impacted the lives of many Youth in the community , she has also brought in a lot of partners for the successful implementation of YASA Programs.
Michael Ofuya has over a year of experience in development, implementation and management of youth and women empowerment programs, as well as leadership, training and events management. He is driven by his desire for an empowered society where every individual has access to various resources, opportunities and a decent life. He is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative, Regional Leadership Centre (YALI-RLC) and a certified Tax Ambassador by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). He is a final year undergraduate student studying Renewable Energy and Environmental Physics.
Head of Communications
Debby Bility believes in telling stories that are geared towards social change. She is a trained communication expert in Public Relation and Print media from Daystar University. Ms.Bility has experience in developing and implementing communication strategies for effective reach to the targeted audience. She has been involved in creating awareness communication material for Ebola Study Vaccine Prevention for Liberia. Ms.Bility is also a Global Schools Advocate 2019-2020 UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Youth Initiative in support of UNESCO's Global Action Program on Education for Sustainable Development.
Ruth Wambui Karanja
Ruth Wambui Karanja is a graduate of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology with a Bachelors degree in Development Studies, working as the project assistant at Youth and Success Association. She is passionate about community development particularly in projects and research. She has been involved in community mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, field research, capacity building as well as planning and implementing community based projects. She believes that it is by identifying the problems that exist in society that we can strategically come up with projects as solutions to these problems. She also believes that by making the society self-reliant, sustainable development can ultimately be achieved.

Christine Murugi has over two year of experience in leadership, working as a Administration and project Officer at Youth and Success Association (YASA).She started working with YASA at a very young age as an Intern. She driven by her passion for change and growth especially among young people. She is a second year undergraduate student studying Bs. Business Information Technology. Christine is an alumnus of YASA Employability Program Cohort 2.

Mr. Henry Ochieng
CEO KARA - Chairman and Strategy Advisor (YASA)
Henry Ochieng is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA). He has over 12 years experience working with Resident Associations and other community based organizations to promote structured and effective engagement with the government and other stakeholders on service delivery agenda; leadership & management; strategic policy advocacy and influencing; social accountability strategies; resource mobilization; effective networking & partnership development; project cycle management. He has a Masters Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and has undertaken skill. Henry is the patron of YASA.
Dr. Mildred Mudany
Paediatrician, PhD - Sexual, reproductive, mental health and HIV advisor
Dr. Mildred Mudany is the current CEO and founder of Help REACH Africa, a local NGO focused on Maternal, newborn and childhealth, adolescent and youth health and empowerment, infectious diseases including HIV, TB and Malaria, and Non Communicable Diseases. Previously she was the Country Director of Jhpiego, an affiliate of John's Hopkins university for 6 years. Prior to that worked for Centre for Disease Control and Prevention as Snr. Technical Advisor and Inter-Agency chair for Maternal Newborn and Child Health. Before this Dr. Mudany was a senior lecturer at the Kenya Medical Training College.Dr. Mudany holds a PhD in Tropical Medicine from Japan, Masters Degree in Paediatrics and Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery.
